Hyundai Motor Company Australia

Having worked extensively for Motoring Giant Hyundai over the past 10 years, we recently were involved with a major launch of the new Tucson. Wanting to present the vehicle to their sales delegates from across Australia, they flew 900 people into Sydney and hosted the launch event at Royal Randwick Racecourse.

Our role involved two parts, one to entertain and introduce the vehicle to VIP Dealer Principles on the Monday for just half a day. We set up a Go to Whoa driving exercise in the bus parking area at the venue. Using electronic timing beams delegates got to drive in a straight line, followed by a full ABS braking stop. This demonstrated the vehicles acceleration and enhanced stopping ability, with a competitive edge thrown in for good measure.

Timing was recorded down to 1000th of a second and the winner was the fastest time, followed by the shortest stopping distance. We organised the staging, banners and timing with a display screen available to see results in real time.

Each delegate then test-drove the vehicles out on the road with a personal instructor that discussed the features of the vehicle as well as directed them where to drive. That evening, trophies were awarded to the winners based on the activity we did during the day with Vince Sorrenti the presenter.

The next 4 days were a little different; delegates rotated through 6 workstations, where each hour a new group would present themselves to our team, we had 15 Tucson vehicles available to be driven on a 50 Minute road drive that we had organised prior to the event. Our team created a professional and accurate road book that was used to determine the exact route taken by each driver.

Passing Coogee and Maroubra beach, the driving route was designed to showcase the vehicle in the lifestyle-based environment that it is designed for. This along with other key destinations and driver change points that the delegates were exposed to left attendees excited and energised about this fantastic new vehicle prior to official public release.

Obviously a fantastic result was achieved with a new benchmark in vehicle presentation now set by this event.

Our team provided, professional staff, risk assessments, activity ideas, timing, staging, route selection, road books and of course hospitality, ensuring delegates were, entertained, kept safe, exposed to the new vehicle and engaged with in an appropriate way.

At all times the client was consulted with specific meetings confirming every detail that we provided. Having to fit in with the overall program and other equally important presenters, we were able to tick all the boxes.
