Ian Luff has been privileged to work with seven Australian World Champions including boxing legend Kostya Tszyu.
Living in the fast lane is Luffy’s passion and his need for speed has seen him race successfully in Australia and Internationally. His ‘Can DO’ approach saw him set a new lap record at Sydney’s Oran Park Raceway that had not been beaten for 10 years. In the same 600hp sports sedan, the flamboyant Luff took victory at Indonesia’s Sental Circuit. He has raced at the Calder Park Thunderdome in Melbourne, Indy on the Gold Coast, the Melbourne Grand Prix, he claimed third place for a podium finish at the Adelaide Grand Prix driving a Porsche 930. Luffy has also raced at Bathurst with Peter Brock’s team in the prestigious James Hardie 12 hour Endurance Race. In the same year he set new lap records for Light Trucks, sports utes, before taking to 1300HP Super Trucks with equal success.
Ian Luff never does things by half and his winning attitude saw him successfully complete the London to Mexico Car Rally in 15th Place. The 30 day event covered 17,000 grueling kilometers through 18 of the worlds most rugged countries. As Luffy said, “This event which had us driving up to 16 hours a day reinforced to me how important self discipline is and why “physical and mental fitness can make you a winner.”
The 1997 Bathurst V8 Supercar Classic saw the talented Luff place second in privateers and a top ten finish. More recently he achieved victory in an SS Commodore at Bathurst 2001.
In 2002 he was again Class Winner at the inaugural Bathurst 24 Hour and came 9th outright against International Teams. The following year sharing the drive with son Warren, the dynamic Father and Son combination stood on the podium for back to back 24 hour Bathurst victories.
Luffy was also crowned Australian Production Car Champion in 2004. He also claimed outright victory in 2006 around the Adelaide Street Circuit (Clipsal 500) in the Lotus Challenge.
His high performance Driving Academy is regarded as the best in the business with graduates including Aussie Formula One driver Mark Webber.Exclusive training and hosting special functions has enabled Luffy to work with Celebrities like- Four times World Champion surfer Mark Richards, INXS rock group. TV Personalities – Richard Wilkins, Doug Mulray. Ian Leslie, Monica Trapaga, Bridget Adams, Paul Mercurio. Football Stars – Steve Roach, Wayne Pearce & John Skandalis.
