Fuel for thought on saving and driving sensibly
Small cars are all the rage, and in tough economic times it makes smart sense to consider what is on offer.
In today’s ever-changing world, the mode of transport chosen could see you save a bundle. Generally, the bigger the vehicle the larger the engine and a lot more fuel consumption.
Unless you need a large commercial vehicle 4WD for specific work purposes then down sizing could be the answer.

MIRROR MIRROR ON THE DOOR
In the mid eighties a revolution in motoring took place. Safety authorities and vehicle manufacturers decided that a left side rear view would become standard equipment. Before this you had to visit your local car accessory shop then work out how to fit it.

Never take your car’s suspension for granted
Suspension on a vehicle is designed to create dynamic balance, improve handling and safety.
When you accelerate or brake, this front-to-rear motion is referred to as pitch. When changing direction, side movement is known as body roll.
If a vehicle has soft suspension then the dynamics are magnified, putting the driver, passengers and other road users at greater risk.

Too Much Spin!
Ask any woman who has gone through pregnancy what it was like in labour?
For most it can be described as a living hell and very painful. Take the letter u out of labour and it sounds a lot like what is filling our heads with the up coming Federal election. The ex Prime Minister , Kevin Rudd, is still getting over his Labor pains after being rugged by his deputy Julia Gillard and Co.

SPEEDING LEGALLY
Time flies and if you are anything like me the second half of the year has Christmas coming around in a flash. Speaking of a flash, new mobile speed cameras are zapping anything that is above the legal speed limit, and judging from feedback, motorists are not happy.

IT’S ALL ABOUT CONFIDENCE
Recently a group of people approached me to debate the subject of driving and in particular who is the better driver, men or women? If I could have a dollar coin for the amount of times this situation has happened I would need many piggy banks. One male said, “It’s a fact that blokes are better at driving and women don’t understand how cars work.” Then his partner piped up and gave him a bagging claiming he had more accidents.

I agree....
Drive to Survive will require more than a mind shift in NSW. As soon as a learner driver passes their test they walk back to the car and stuff the P plate behind the number plate, this is illegal,so the very first act of driving a car is unlawful. Indicator discipline is non-existent,the purpose of the blinker is to indicate your INTENSION to perform a manoeuvre, not something that comes on after the brake lights. When you try an explain that you are signalling to the person you cant see, a blank look is the most common reaction. When you say that at least once in your driving life they will exclaim"jeez where did that car come from,I didn't see him"thats the person you are signalling to. In regard to deaths in driveways from reversing vehicles, when you arrive home most people are not standing in the driveway to welcome you home. Therefore if you reverse into the driveway the potential for an accident is reduced and when you leave and the family comes out to wave goodbye you are travelling in a forward direction with much greater vision, you have to reverse at some stage, reversing on arrival is safer than departure. Keep up the good work. Best regards Ken Harris.
i can honesty say, this is my 1st blog i also, have to note, that after everything "mista Ruff" has taught me about that addictive "speed thing" that he peddles... he definitely didnt teach me about the "after burner" effect, that occured in my West at WP....it certainly was a crispy type of sauage that afternoon.. all is ok with the West..it looked worse than it was...
